I helped the digitaliation of the penal process in the French Departement of Justice.

From a entirely paper based process, the goal of the governement is to go 100% digital in the next few years. The first step was to numerize the document and use decentralized storage for everyone to access. I arrived on the project at that point where the question of using data arrised.

My role was first to convinced every shareholder of the importance of a unified data model. To demonstrate the usefulness of such a model and data in general, we developped a pipeline of data and a PoC. This Poc showed how computer analysis of some data could save time for everyone in the process while still obeying the law and reglementation of such sensitive data.

Because the documents go through different administrations (Police, Penitentiary ...), this means that the data structure underlying the process had to be carefully designed. To start this process, I lead the project to design the data model (in partnership with the other shareholders) and helped build structure and formed people to make sure it would endure even after my departure.
