The client needed a fast and secure way to schedule, manage, and audit configuration of network appliances. They are operating large industries across the world, and often give contractors remote access to on-premises hardware for maintenance and troubleshooting. In order to follow the principle of least privilege, the access needs to be scheduled, and managing these rules manually is costly, slow, and error-prone.

Itavi built a web-based dashboard where a range of network appliances could be managed centrally. One core feature was the ability to schedule configuration changes, for example to limit the duration of access for a contractor, or to automatically clean up temporary rule changes after a scheduled maintenance. The tool has been very valuable for the company by reducing the time it takes to resolve costly outages, reducing the time network administrators need to spend on managing configuration, and by improving security.
